Sustainable indoor comfort: three words that in their small way have a great impact on well-being.
We are referring to the well-being that people perceive inside their home, or workplace, when they do not have to worry about their health because it is too cold, or too hot or too humid. Or maybe because the indoor air quality is poor.
Comfort becomes well-being when the indoor climate is uniform, healthy and natural. It becomes sustainable when this result is achieved with as little impact as possible on the environment.
We can define it as total when the three main factors of indoor comfort contribute to its achievement: heating, cooling and air treatment. Deep and lasting well-being cannot exist if a balance is not achieved and maintained between inside and outside, between our needs and the consequences that can arise from satisfying them. Consequences such as energy waste, which involves significant emissions of CO₂ into the atmosphere and which does not always protect us from discomfort.
